He has served on the Royal Yacht "Norge", is educated Master Mariner, has studied Maritime Law and holds a Master’s degree in Marine Insurance and Risk Management. His work experience includes 1st Officer with RCCL, Deputy Underwriter with Storebrand (later Gard), Insurance Manger with Bergesen d.y. ASA / BW Gas ASA and Vice President Insurance/Claims of Höegh Autoliners AS. Lastly he has been with Vega Marine AS in the position as Director of Marketing. Runar has been a member of the Norwegian Shipowners’ Association Insurance Committee and brings with him a deep understanding of marine risks and valuable experience from an Owner’s point of view, both on placing and claims.

In his spare time, Runar enjoys cross-country skiing, mountain biking, hunting and fly-fishing.
